Meditate on it Day and Night

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. Joshua 1:8

There is a promise in God’s word for success. This is granted as we take the Scriptures seriously with the intention and desire to obey. You see the same One who gave us life and multiple blessings knows what is the best way to conduct our life. He also, like a good father, knows our frame and remembers that we have difficulty obeying His word or seeing life from His perspective. So He commands us to take His word seriously enough to meditate on it day and night. Day and night! That seems like a lot. However, just a quick glance around society or even into our own heart, we find that things are spinning largely out of control. When we meditate on the Scriptures we see a different way, a different perspective or even a way out. You see unlike other books, the Scriptures are alive. The Scripture is a book that you not only read but it actually reads you! When we open this book, peer into it and look up to the Maker of heaven and earth something happens to us that is supernatural. He comes, He interacts, He strengthens, He empowers and He changes us.

Hebrews 4:12-13 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but al things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.
